STI: Cardinal Gibbons HS NC

I had the opportunity to do a workshop at my high school for middle and grade school teachers. It was a wonderful experience and this gave me the opportunity to show others the CSI mysteries we have done at school. Teachers were introduced to different parts of the CSI mystery and how we integrated forensics in the classroom. For example, with the help of the Drama dept. we recreated a crime scene in which students could gather evidence to take back to the classroom for the lab section of the project. This was part of the collaboration that went on between the arts dept. and science dept. I’ve attached a picture of one of the crime scenes we recreated from a CSI mystery kit from Wards. We use the kits as a basis for our mysteries, however we change them to meet our needs.

Using NC State Standards I integrated different sections of the mystery for arts, math and other subjects. The attendees seem to be interested in all the information I gave them and I hope they had a good time walking through mystery. If you attended this workshop and are reading this post, please feel free to comment on the workshop. If you have any questions feel free to e-mail me.

Have a great Day
