Long Time

It’s been a awhile since my last entry. So I’m trying to catch up with some news. Recently I did the Porosity and Permeability lab using a setup from Ward’s. One of the problems I found with this lab that the amount of water left in the tube after a class used the set up affected the data collected by other classes. This was especially true when it came to Water Retention. I did however like the lab as a whole. Students need to see how pore space can affect the Water Retention and Porosity of soil. This is especially true when talking about runoff and infiltration.

After doing this lab the class discussion centered around runoff and infiltration of pollutants. This was an ideal lab to help with the Weathering and Soil section of Earth Science.
